K. Rishi Kumar (Mahesh Babu), an Indian man, becomes the CEO of a US based software company called "Origin". He reveals his personal details in an interview. Hailing from a middle class family in Hyderabad, he dreams to make it big in the software industry. His father K. Satyanarayana (Prakash Raj) works as a clerk in a private company and is constantly pressurized by moneylenders. After witnessing many such incidents, Rishi decides to study well and grow in life, while the gap between him and his father widens.

 Rishi moves to Vizag for his post-graduation in engineering, where he meets Pooja (Pooja Hegde) and Ravi Shankar (Allari Naresh), who become his good friends. Ajay (Kamal Kamaraju) is one of the toppers of their class, but he gets jealous after seeing Rishi surpass him in all the exams. Ajay's father (Mukesh Rishi), a politician and minister, warns Rishi by offering money so that his son will be the topper again, but Rishi refuses.
